Morning Brief is the hotel daily operations software inside Guester. It opens the day with arrivals, departures, open handover work, overnight guest feedback and the priorities your team should see first, on one page that sits alongside your PMS.

A hotel morning report written for the team, not for the archive
Most independent hotels start the day from three or four places: the arrivals list in the PMS, a WhatsApp thread from the night shift, a spreadsheet for rates and whatever arrived in the review inbox overnight. Each source is fine on its own. Together they cost the general manager the first hour of the day, every day.
Morning Brief reads what is already available to your hotel and turns it into one page: who is arriving and leaving, which handover notes are still open, what guests wrote overnight and where the competitor set moved. It reads like a good shift report, so the team actually reads it.
What is in the brief
- Arrivals and departures. When your PMS is connected, for example Oracle OPERA Cloud through OHIP, the day’s arrivals, departures and in-house picture are read live. Guester reads this data; it never writes back to your PMS.
- Open handover work. Shift notes and tasks that were left open the night before, so nothing depends on someone remembering it.
- Guest feedback. New reviews from Google, Booking.com and Expedia, each with a reply draft waiting in hotel review management.
- Rate context. Where competitor rates moved overnight, from competitor rate tracking, so pricing questions start with facts rather than a hunch.
- Priorities. A short list of what deserves attention today, prepared by Claire, the assistant inside Guester, for your team to confirm or change.
From the brief to the next action
Every line in the brief opens the record behind it. A late arrival opens the reservation context. A review opens its reply draft. A rate movement opens the comparison by date and room type. The general manager reads the brief once and delegates from it, instead of forwarding four screenshots to the group.
The brief is a starting point, not the source of truth. Before a rate change, a promise to a guest or a time-sensitive task, the team checks the live record. Guester keeps that check one click away.
What Morning Brief takes off the desk
- The morning WhatsApp thread that tries to be a handover.
- The printed arrivals list with notes in the margin.
- The daily walk through three OTA extranets to see what guests wrote.
- The rate spreadsheet that is updated when someone has time.
Your PMS stays. Guester reads from it and works next to it.
Built for independent and boutique hotels
Guester is designed for properties where the general manager is close to the desk and the team is small enough to share one page. There is no implementation project. Setup starts with the systems you already run; supported integrations and the data available from each are reviewed together during onboarding, before anything is promised.
If your hotel closes the day with a night audit, the brief is where the audit’s summary lands the next morning. Our essay in praise of the night audit explains why the two belong together.
Guester is built by a founder who spent two and a half years at a hotel front desk. Read about the team.
Questions hotel teams ask
Does Morning Brief replace our PMS?
No. Guester works alongside your property management system. Where a live connection exists, such as Oracle OPERA Cloud through OHIP, the brief reads reservations, arrivals and night audit data. It does not write to the PMS.
How is this different from a morning checklist?
A checklist tells the team what to look at. The brief already contains what they would find: today’s arrivals, open tasks, overnight feedback and rate movements. Many hotels keep their checklist and use the brief to complete it in minutes. Our guide to the morning briefing ritual covers the routine itself.
Can we see it with our own data?
A demo uses example data, so you can see the whole brief in thirty minutes. A walkthrough with your own property needs a connected system and your written permission, which we arrange after the demo.
